- T: Allergies can affect children and adults from s spring to summer to fall, especially contact lens wearers.
- T: UV protection from sunglasses or contact lenses w/ UV protection can help prevent damage. Children and teens are more susceptible as well as people who work outdoors on a regular basis.
- T: Antioxidants such as lutein, beta carotene, Vitamins C & E, zinc, and omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil or flaxseed oil) can protect your eyes. Green leafy veggies, fish, and mild are great choices.
- T: A complete eye exam is critical to a child's learning development. Some learning disorders such as ADD can be misdiagnosed if the child does not know what "clear vision" is like.
- F: Correction with glasses or contact lenses can achieve good vision, reducing starbursts and distortions especially when driving at night or working on the computer.
- F: There are bifocal or multifocal contact lenses available now. Also monovision is another option which allows you to stay in your current contacts and alter the prescription to see both near and far.
