What insurance do you accept?
Medicare & NC Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Primary Physican Care, MedCost, Partners, Humana, Community Eye Care, Superior Vision, VSP(call). Call if you do not see yours listed. We verify all coverage either when you arrive or if you prefer in advance
Why do you dilate my eyes and what can I expect?
Eye exams with dilation is the standard of care and has been for several years. The doctor can see more of the back of your eyes after dilation , thus a better exam. Most people are more sensitive to lights and find it harder to see up close after dilation. Driving home afterwards is usually no problem with the use of sunglasses (which we can provide). If you have experienced problems in the past we advise bringing a driver with you.
Why don't you accept my insurance?
Not all insurances are the same. The main reasons we do not take a particular insurance are: 1) Poor re-imbursement 2) Limits patient to inferior glasses 3) Too complex and time-consuming to figure out 4) Coverage verification process is poor or inaccurate
