The Galper Eye Center is an independent developmental optometry practice offering comprehensive eye examinations for eyeglasses and contact lenses. Dr. Galper offers an expanded assessment of eye teaming (binocular vision), eye movement control (oculomotor function) and eye focusing abilities (accommodation), along with an evaluation of developmental skills in visual information processing skills/visual perceptual-motor system.

Dr. Galper provides vision therapy programs to resolve many binocular problems relating to attention, learning and activities in daily living. All types of contact lenses are fit by Dr. Diane Galper. A Wide variety of unique eyeglass frame styles are available for your lenses made from our prescription, or one you have from another eye care professional. Advanced diagnostic equipment has been brought to the practice allowing for earlier detection and diagnosis of many ocular diseases.

We offer many services using the latest in computer assisted technology including:

  • Eye Examinations – GEC patients experience a thorough evaluation of the health history of their eyes. Our technicians provide a variety of tests to give Dr. Galper the information necessary to determine the patient’s optical needs. Dr. Galper meticulously takes each patient through the process of refraction to establish all prescriptions. After she listens to how each individual describes their visual needs, she makes recommendations based on specific materials available using up-to-date technology.
  • Contact Lenses - The technology of contemporary contact lenses has allowed many patients the freedom and comfort of contact lens wear. Dr. Galper specializes in the difficult to fit contact lens patient. New materials and designs now provide options for wearing lenses for astigmatism, multifocal, one day disposable and hybrid lenses with the clarity of hard lens combined with the comfort of soft lenses.
  • Eyeglass Frames and Lenses - Dr. Galper has sought out the best eyeglass frame collections from the US and Europe to bring unique, yet wearable eyeglass frame styles for men, women and children in a wide range of prices. Most collections displayed at the Galper Eye Center cannot be found in the large retail chain stores, or most other independent offices. New patients are often referred to us because they admired the eyeglass frames that were purchased by their friends and family from our office.
  • Vision Therapy - Dr. Galper can perform a sensorimotor and binocular vision evaluation for those patients who have difficulties with a variety of visual tasks. This evaluation, which is different than a comprehensive eye exam, provides the information for Dr. Galper to determine the appropriate vision therapy program for resolving learning-related visual challenges. Vision Therapy is generally required to treat problems of binocular vision, accommodation, ocular motility, amblyopia, strabismus, and visual information processing. Vision Therapy can be beneficial for those with learning difficulties, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Brain Injury/Stroke, and has also been used to improve sports performance. Learn more about Vision Therapy on our “Learn About Vision” tab, or visit the links we’ve provided on our “Information” tab.
  • ChromaGen lens technology  – We are also a provider of the new FDA-cleared ChromaGen lenses. A number of our patients have found these special tinted lenses provide immediate relief from the following symptoms, as well as increasing their reading speed and accuracy by up to 40%. If you experience any of these symptoms, ask Dr. Galper if ChromaGen lenses might be the right solution for you:
